A horrific fire broke out at a chemical factory in Karachi, Pakistan. At least 18 people died in the incident. This information is known quoting the news agency Reuters.
A fire broke out at a multi-storey chemical factory in the western part of Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city, on Friday, the report said. With this incident, the security of industrial establishments in the country is being questioned again.
Local police and fire service officials said most of the factory’s windows were closed when the fire broke out. Some workers died trapped there.
At least 16 people were killed in the blaze, said Shakib Ismail Menom, an assistant inspector with the Karachi West Police.
Fire service officer Mubin Ahmed said there was only one way to enter the factory and that was how everyone got out. The roof was closed when the fire broke out, so the damage was great.
